Why would people even consider this overpriced Audi when there are much better altrrnatives like the WRX STi, Focus RS and Golf R.

have you been inside a WRx/STI? Stupid loud, uncomfortable (to me) Not very good on gas (thanks really short gearing) and at the end of the day, it still just a basic Japanese economy car thats been tarted up.
focus RS: no know what thats like to drive yet, so no comparision can be made
Golf R: It is pretty much an audi. And the price really isnt that far off an s3. S1 is a size smaller

I've been in an Audi A1, and it not very refined. Terrible interior and bad NVH.
